Honouring Those Who Planted Seeds of Faith and Service

This page is dedicated to the faithful Canadians now with the Lord, who have given their time, talents, and resources to build the foundation of the Central Mexico Mission Society

Every act of love we sow today becomes a tree of grace that others will rest beneath

The following are the faithful Canadians who have given their time, talents, and resources to help shape CMMS into what it is today. Whether it was playing with children, cleaning, building with their hands, serving meals, or giving generously of their financial resources, each act of service became a seed of hope that continues to grow across Central Mexico—touching lives, building communities, and advancing God’s Kingdom. May their legacy remind us that every act of love and generosity leaves a lasting shade of grace for generations to come.

 Larry Knutson

Larry first visited Mazatlán in 2000 for what was meant to be a two-week vacation—but God had a greater plan. After witnessing the deep need in the city’s poorest areas, his heart was forever changed. Larry began serving with passion—helping build community centers, driving volunteer teams, and supporting outreach efforts that shared God’s love in practical ways.

In 2006, he founded the Central Mexico Mission Society with his wife Anne turning their compassion into lasting impact. Larry passed away in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer and his faith and service continue to inspire. His wife Anne remains an active part of the mission, faithfully carrying forward the work they began together.

 Charlotte Cousley

Charlotte played a key role on the board with Central Mexico Mission Society. During her time in Mexico, Charlotte volunteered with medical teams, organized sewing projects, and taught mothers in community centers how to sew, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Charlotte had a heart for serving the people of Mazatlán, Mexico. Charlotte volunteered with medical teams, organized sewing projects, and taught mothers in community centers how to sew, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Charlotte Cousley went to be our Lord and Saviour on March 11, 2025 after a hard journey with cancer.

 Pete Reimer

Pete was a vital part of the Mazatlán expat community for many years, pouring his time, talents, and heart into the work God had his hands in. A skilled metalworker, welder, mechanic, and carpenter, Pete used his hands to bless countless construction projects. He also helped lead food and supply distribution through the Vineyard Ministry to Central Mexico, faithfully serving those in need and visiting the sick with compassion and care. Pete’s leadership extended to his service as President and Past President of the Central Mexico Mission Society, but his greatest legacy lies in the quiet, consistent ways he lived out his faith. To those who knew him, he embodied the words of Scripture: a “good and faithful servant.”His life was a living testimony of God’s love expressed through service, humility, and generosity. Pete passed away on September 1, 2025 and we rejoice knowing he is now at peace with the Lord he loved and served so well.
